About Us

When I was 13 years old, I opened a Spiegel catalog and it changed my life (does anyone remember those?). One side was the home decor section. As soon as I saw it, I knew. I wanted to be an interior designer. 

I earned an interior design certificate in college and spent years working at the Home Depot. I especially loved designing kitchens and mixing colors in the paint department. To this day a wall of paint swatches is one of my favorite sights. I was also the designer at a local furniture store. But eventually, the real world took me down a different path. 

I became a writer and marketer in the nutritional supplement industry. I loved it--who knew? Loved learning new things and writing about them. But I always had this unfulfilled dream in my heart. Today, in addition to my day job, I'm grateful to freelance as a writer for Park City Home Magazine. And this blog is where I am diving back in to design. Because it's never too late to go after your dream, right?

I like design with a purpose.

I believe your home should not only be beautiful, it should help you feel the way you want to feel and become the person you want to become. I believe there's more to a happy home than just what you can see. You're a whole person and your space should delight all of your senses. So, here we explore not only trends and fun interior design ideas but also delve into color psychology, home fragrance and aromatherapy, and maybe even a little woo-woo magic. I live in Utah and love to feature local businesses, too.

When not working on this little passion project, I love hanging out with friends, family and my 2 cats (Jet and Trixie Von Sparkleface); hiking; and dancing to EDM.
