When I was 13 years old, I opened a Spiegel catalog and it changed my life (does anyone remember those?). One side was the home decor section. As soon as I saw it, I knew: I wanted to be an interior designer. 

I earned an interior design certificate in college and spent years working at the Home Depot. I especially loved designing kitchens and mixing colors in the paint department. To this day a wall of paint swatches is one of my favorite sights. I was also the designer at a local furniture store. 

But eventually, the real world took me down a different path. 

Today, I'm a Content Director for a nutritional supplement brand. I loved the industry--who knew? Loved learning new things and crafting brand stories, content strategies, and writing about them. But I always had this unfulfilled dream in my heart. Today, in addition to my day job, I'm grateful to freelance as a writer for Park City Home Magazine as an opportunity to dive back in to design. Because it's never too late to go after your dream, right?

I like design with a purpose.

I believe homes and public spaces should not only be beautiful, they should help people inside them feel the way they want to feel and become who they want to become. There's more to a well-designed space than just what you can see. There's strategy behind it. I like to tell those stories and explore those ideas.

I live in Utah. When not working on this little passion project, I love hanging out with friends, family and my 2 cats (Jet and Trixie Von Sparkleface); hiking; enjoying a good craft beer or glass of wine; and, occasionally, my little introvert soul likes to dance the night away at an EDM festival.
